Our Story

My family and I moved to America from Afghanistan in the early ’90s looking for better opportunities. I grew up in San Diego and went to San Diego State University. After I graduated, I started working in the corporate world. During college, I enjoyed hosting dinner parties and grilling kabobs and other street food with family and friends. After ten years, I realized that cooking was my true passion.

In 2020, when COVID hit, I changed my perspective on life. I left my corporate job to follow my passion for food and started a new business. We serve Mediterrnean food with a California twist, and many dishes have ties to San Diego. Our business is family-run, and we take pride in what we offer our customers. We focus on creating great food and pay close attention to our customers’ feedback. We always aim for high standards by choosing the best ingredients and shopping locally when we can.

We pride ourselves on quality. Our chicken is zabiha halal, and our steak is USDA Choice. From the very start, we’ve focused on using only high-quality ingredients. It's something we believe in and what keeps our customers coming back. Every plate we serve is made with care because we want you to feel at home here, whether you’re dining in, picking up, or getting delivery.

Whether you’re picking up a quick bite or dining in with friends and family, we’re here to make sure your experience at San Diego Kabob Shack is a good one. Both of our locations in Chula Vista are ready to serve you, and we look forward to becoming your go-to spot for delicious, high-quality meals. Come in, relax, and enjoy—we’ll take care of the rest. 🍽️
